2011 - The FUN continues!

Kyle started preschool in January!  He of course is with his best friend, Ellie, and is loving everything about school (learning new songs, the sand table and meeting new friends).  His obsession with trains continues!  Matt took him on the Metro for the first time and met us at the Smithsonian.  He hasn't stopped talking about his ride on the metro and is looking forward to his birthday trip on the big train.  Yes, we are taking a trip to Philly on an Amtrak train for Kyle's 3rd birthday.  He asks everyday if its his birthday and if we are going on the big train with Luke - so cute :)  Its going to be a long month before his birthday weekend!  In the meantime we are spending our chilly days playing inside with playdoh, painting/coloring/stamping, doing puzzles, playing trains/cars, and watching some fun old and new Disney dvds...CARS is by far Kyle's favorite....we lost count how many times we have watched it!  Also noteable is that our "big boy" is officially potty trained and is always so proud of his bathroom accomplishments - we are thrilled to have only one child in diapers and plan on potty training Luke much earlier!

Luke is eating SO much food, I think our grocery bill has doubled!  He is now 8 months and weighs 20+ pounds.  Luke is rolling and scooting around....its only a matter of time before he starts crawling.  First word - DADA (of course!), it was also Kyles first word too.  He will also say MAMA, but its mostly DADA :)  We are enjoying watching him learn to wave, give slobbery kisses, enjoy books and dance and wiggle to any tune!  His two bottom teeth are fully out, which means lots of drool and lots of lots of bagels to chew on.  He is still an awesome sleeper and is quick to flash his sweet smile and dimples at anyone!

The boys love to play together and constantly make eachother laugh uncontrollably!  Just today, Luke was in his bouncer fussing to be picked up while I was making dinner and I hear Kyle say "Luke your my best friend, it's okay, don't cry"....there was a pause of fussing, I hear Kyle fart and then both the boys start laughing and squealing....yes, this is a typical day in our house!  I have nicknamed them "Tater tot" and "Mr. Potato Head"

Matt and I thank God everyday for our two wonderful and healthy little boys.  Weekends are a great time for us to spend quality time together and we all love Daddy's banana pancakes on Saturday morning (the highlight of my weekend!).  Kyle is famous for his long winded prayers at meals and bedtime, he is thankful for EVERY friend and family member (even four legged friends)...Matt and I don't dare open an eye and look at eachother during Kyle's prayers out of fear of laughing at how cute and sweet he is!  We are continually amazed at all their milestones and equally exhausted at all the challenges of parenthood - hahaha!  Lots of fun is in store for us in 2011!

Belated Christmas Post - HOHOHO

These pictures are being posted a little late, like everything in our crazy lives.  I couldn't pass up sharing some cute photos of the boys!  We had a great Christmas and enjoyed watching the boys enjoy all the joys of the season :)  We read a TON of Christmas books about snowy fun, the birth of Jesus and Santa and his reindeer friends.  Our Fisher Price Nativity set was well loved this year and we added a fun Geotrax Christmas train set to the holiday fun (Thanks Mimi and Papa!).  Our house was decked out in mistletoe, homemade decorations and the smells of cinnamon and evergreen.  It was truly a wonderful Christmas and we thank all our family and friends for the great Christmas cards and Christmas cheer you shared with us!
