The Tractor

Santa (aka: Grandad) came a little early this year.  Kyle's obsession with Grandads riding lawnmower prompted him to do something crazy - buy him his own tractor!  As you can imagine, Kyle LOVES his tractor.  We even managed to fashion a little seat for Luke in the wagon the tractor pulls...don't worry we were close behind ready to catch Luke!  He loved being pulled around the yard by his big brother. It will only be a matter of time before they are fighting over driving the tractor, but for now Luke is content to go along for the ride.  Kyle has even learned some "tricks" and likes to drive the tractor one handed hanging on the side.  Kyle also takes his tractor driving very seriously and stops to pick up all the leaves and sticks in the yard for the chimnea.  Thanks Grandad and Tonnie for what is sure to bring the boys hours of entertainment!

Thankful

We have so much to be thankful for this holiday season.  Our little boys being our greatest blessing!  They make us laugh and smile all day long.  We are so touched by how much Kyle loves his little brother and wants to include him in everything. Luke's smile lights up the room and Kyle is talking up a storm!  It's not uncommon to see a pile of toys (courtesy big brother Kyle) in front of Luke wherever we sit him to play.  Luke squeals with delight as Kyle runs and dances circles around him!  We look forward to celebrating Luke's first Christmas and what will surely be an exciting holiday for Kyle as the countdown to the 25th of December begins!

They certainly do keep us busy, but we enjoy every minute of our sometimes hectic life with two little ones.  A few highlights of the past 6 months include: swimming at the pool and playing at the playground this summer, 4th of July w/ neighborhood friends, parades and the fair in Bridgewater, trip to Solomans Island and visiting Great-Grandad on his island, Nats games, vacationing w/ the McGinns in Nags Head, Boo at the Zoo, Halloween and the Pumpkin Patch.  We have so many pics...its hard to choose which ones to post!  Here are a few of our favorites in no particular order...

Meet our new baby boy!

Luke Eliot Quattlebaum arrived on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 5:23 am.  He weighed 7lbs, 4ozs. and was 19.5 inches long.  He looks a lot like Kyle with his sandy blonde hair and double chin!  He is a very sweet little baby and barely cries.  Luke is a great sleeper and eater and is steadily gaining weight.  Kyle loves to hold Luke and make sure he always has a blanket to keep him warm, even when we are outside in the heat, haha!  Thank you to all our friends and family for your prayers and support over the past 9 months.  God has blessed the Quattlebaum family once again with a healthy little boy and we couldn't be happier!

That's right, a little brother for Kyle! We are excited to meet our new little guy in June and have already been busy preparing the new nursery/boys room, unpacking teeny-tiny clothes and booties and of course discussing names! To everyone's dismay we are keeping the name (which by the way we have not decided) under wraps until our little boy is born. Not to worry we are not ones to choose anything too outrageous or shocking! Kyle will be 2 in March and everyday is learning new words and telling us what is on his mind. As you can see in the pics. he is busy researching new cribs on his laptop, vacuuming (his passion) and helping dada assemble IKEA furniture..haha!
